As a Senior Systems Engineer and Exchange Subject Matter Expert, you will lead the architecture, implementation, and support of our hybrid Exchange infrastructure, ensuring secure, scalable, and high-performing communication systems across the enterprise. You'll be part of a passionate team dedicated to delivering world-class technology experiences to over 15,000 team members, collaborating across domains including identity, endpoint engineering, and collaboration tooling.
About the role
- Serve as the SME for Exchange architecture, design, and complex troubleshooting in hybrid environments.
- Architect and maintain mail flow infrastructure, including onboarding/offboarding processes.
- Manage and support Exchange 2016+ environments (on-prem and Exchange Online).
- Implement and maintain Active Directory, Entra ID (Azure AD), PKI, and email security services.
- Automate processes using PowerShell and Exchange Management Shell.
- Monitor and maintain infrastructure performance, scalability, and security.
- Provide Tier 3 support for Exchange, mail flow, and collaboration tools.
- Lead migrations from legacy Exchange versions and public folders.
- Participate in on-call rotation and respond to after-hours escalations.
- Conduct training and knowledge sharing sessions across IT teams.
- Collaborate with vendors and partners to support migrations and operations.
Minimum Qualifications
- 10+ years of hands-on Exchange administration and architecture experience.
- Deep expertise in Exchange 2016+ hybrid environments and mail flow design.
- Advanced PowerShell scripting and automation skills.
- Strong understanding of DAGs, namespace planning, autodiscover, transport rules, and connectors.
- Experience with Active Directory, Entra ID, DNS, DHCP, and enterprise networking.
- Knowledge of identity federation, SSO, and MFA solutions.
- Proven ability to take projects from concept through implementation.
- Strong communication and mentoring skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- Microsoft certifications (e.g., MS-203).
- Experience with migration tools (BitTitan, Quest).
- Public folder migration experience.
