nEPS Corporation is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to assist in the Design, develop, and test mechanical systems, components, and assemblies for undersea platforms including MK11 SEAL Delivery Vehicles (SDVs), SWCS, DCS, and related support equipment
nRequirements
nJob Responsibilities:
n· Design, develop, and test mechanical systems, components, and assemblies for undersea platforms including MK11 SEAL Delivery Vehicles (SDVs), SWCS, DCS, and related support equipment.
n· Support fabrication, overhaul, refurbishment, reassembly, and verification of mechanical systems such as pressure vessels, enclosures, brackets, valves, and mounts.
n· Perform mechanical analyses including finite element analysis (FEA), hydrodynamic modeling, and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) for submersible vehicle structures and components.
n· Generate and review engineering documentation, specifications, and technical data packages in accordance with MIL-STD-31000B and project design requirements.
n· Support SOC-related tasking, ensuring all materials, welds, fittings, and documentation meet NAVSEA SS800-AG-MAN-010/P-9290 and NAVSEA S9086-AD-SOC-030 requirements.
n· Provide support during prototype development, testing, and transition to production, including hands-on troubleshooting and field support as required.
n· Collaborate closely with electrical, systems, and software engineers to develop integrated multi-discipline solutions for mission-critical hardware.
n· Participate in market surveys, materials research, cost studies, and performance assessments to support design decisions.
nRequired Experience:
n· Minimum 5 years of mechanical engineering experience, with demonstrated work supporting naval or DoD engineering projects—especially in submersibles or harsh environment systems.
n· Experience with 3D modeling and simulation tools such as SolidWorks, Creo, or AutoCAD for design and documentation.
n· Hands-on experience supporting fabrication, machining, and testing of complex mechanical systems.
n· Familiarity with SOC standards and inspection criteria for submersible components, pressure boundaries, and life-support-related hardware.
n· Working knowledge of military and NAVSEA specifications, including material selection, structural tolerancing, and environmental performance.
nRequired Skills and Qualifications:
n· Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field.
n· U.S. Citizenship and active Secret Clearance required.
n· Proficiency in design for manufacturability (DFM), GD&T, and technical drawing interpretation.
n· Strong understanding of mechanical properties of materials, especially marine-grade metals and composites.
n· Ability to prepare and deliver detailed technical reports, presentations, and analyses.
n· Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills with the ability to operate effectively in a team-driven, cross-disciplinary environment.
