The Position
Roche Molecular Systems, Inc. seeks a Senior Project Engineer at its Branchburg, NJ location.
Duties: Description: Manage technical and administrative aspects of engineering projects throughout project lifecycle, including scope definition, scheduling, budgeting, and coordinating activities interdepartmentally and with suppliers. Apply engineering principles and financial knowledge to improve diagnostic manufacturing performance, promote cost reductions, and achieve optimum levels of quality and efficiency. (20%) Coordinate and monitor project activities. Review plans and monitor project implementation. Make judgments regarding quality of implementation within the discipline. Evaluate required changes and obtain approval for changes that substantially impact the scope, budget, or schedule. Employ contingency plans to recover from schedule slippage and financial overruns when appropriate. (20%) Participate in project review meetings and address technical and commercial details related to project execution. Collaborate with manufacturing engineers, mechanics, and operations teams to support continuous improvement efforts and optimize processes. (15%) Develop detailed project plans that outline scope, goals, deliverables, resource allocation, timelines, and budgets. Develop processes and procedures to minimize risk. Ensure that guidelines and procedures are followed pursuant to the risk assessments performed on-site, including written management approval, and clear change definition. Develop plans (project details, timelines, resource requirements, costs, and rollout) to close gaps and execute accordingly. (35%) Estimate and coordinate required resources (materials, budget, time, and people) to accomplish assigned individual tasks. Anticipates future initiatives. Benchmark internally and externally. Recognize changes in the environment and present resources as indicators of future problems and opportunities; identify proactive solutions. (10%)
Education and experience required: Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in field of Industrial Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related, and 4 years of experience in related position in pharmaceutical or medical device manufacturing industry
Special Requirements: Must have experience with the following:
- Implementation of complex automated filling/packaging equipment from equipment design through final implementation;
- Design transfer and technical transfer processes from development to manufacturing operations for the manufacture of IVD (in vitro diagnostics) products;
- Design and implementation of new primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging;
- Industrial printing technologies and applications;
- Navigating and extracting data out of ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) Systems;
- Change control process in Quality Change Management System (e.g. SAP);
- Applying industry standard manufacturing quality/risk management processes including CAPAs (Corrective and Preventative Actions), pFMEA (Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis), and safety engineering principles for designing/maintaining a workplace per OSHA safety standards.
Project Management Certification (PMP) is required.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location for this position of Branchburg NJ is $107,952 to $140,500 per year. Actual pay within the range will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
