Primary Duties
  • Provides/develops technical HSE training aimed at regulatory and procedural compliance. Includes environmental compliance, waste management, and chemical safety.
  • Report, monitor, and correct environmental, health, and safety problems/issues.
  • Develop, streamline, standardize, promote and harmonize safety programs at each site including but not limited to new hire orientation including contractor training, safety audits, hazard and risk assessments, incident investigations, proactive reporting, job safety analysis, safety awareness, communications, environmental campaigns, and training.
  • Promote a zero-incident safety culture reflective of a commitment to an injury-free workplace where employees are capable, empowered, and committed to hazard recognition and prevention in a team environment. Includes assisting in achieving environmental and safety goals.
  • Maintain knowledge of and ensure regulatory compliance with all environmental, health, and safety laws and regulations by local, state, and federal agencies.
  • Interface with regulatory agencies during inspections, compliance evaluations, and environmental permitting. Includes ensuring timeliness and accuracy of all recordkeeping and reporting requirements.
  • Support ISO/OSHA certifications.
  • Assist with the implementation, facilitation, continues improvement, and maintenance of the HSE Management System.
  • Conduct worksite inspections; analyze safety data, program performance and identify trends through data analysis. Prepare reports of findings with recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Provide and ensure all HSE reporting is completed, including monthly reporting, contractor prequalification forms, and other requested information.
  • In conjunction with the Safety site representative, partner with organizational units at both site locations to improve efficiencies and reduce Health and Safety related risks and costs.
  • Ensure material safety related data is maintained and readily accessible when needed.
  • Assess, lead, and mentor all safety personnel including assigning tasks, areas of responsibility, and ensuring performance requirements to develop direct reports.
  • Manage the plant and security systems and programs, including the emergency preparedness plan, for continuity and the protection of company property and employee safety.
  • Investigates accidents to ascertain causes for use in recommending preventive measures and developing HSE program revisions, as necessary
  • Determine training requirements in order to coordinate and conduct safety training. Including but not limited to near miss, toolbox talks, emergency procedures, and other proactive awareness communications to employees at each site location.
  • Provide ongoing communication and training to supervisory and management personnel on HSE program performance with associated recommended proactive and/or corrective actions, and environmental health & safety hazards, laws, and compliance best practices.
  • Observes workers to determine compliance with respective HSE policies and procedures.
  • Support ESG initiatives including tracking and reporting Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Education & Work Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational / Industrial Safety, Engineering, Environmental Science or other EHS related field
  • Five (5) years of experience in manufacturing environment related to EHS program management
  • Extensive industrial background, which includes experience working with local, state and federal regulatory agencies.
  • Previous experience supervising and leading employees
  • Experience in the oil, gas, or petrochemical industries (Preferred)
