What does a Quality Engineer do at Rinnai?
This position will provide an experienced Quality Engineer to Rinnai America for helping us achieve our corporate mission statement of "Quality is our Destiny" in our manufacturing facility. This position will create, implement, and execute the Quality Management and Control System in the manufacturing facility. These include but are not limited to supplier product quality, incoming inspection, FMEA's, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
  • This position is located at 500 The Lakes Parkway Griffin, GA.
  • Shift: 1st shift
  • Schedule: Monday - Friday

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Development and operation of quality control systems in a manufacturing environment
  • Application and operation of quality inspection tools and procedures
  • Supplier Quality Including:
  1. Conducting supplier quality audits
  2. Auditing supplier quality control systems
  3. Reviewing supplier control and development plans
  4. Interface with supplier and customer quality representatives concerning issues and assure that effective corrective action is implemented.
  • Develop and implement layered internal audit procedure for all processes.
  • Implement audit plan for finished assemblies
  • Working with management to review customer complaints, determine root cause and implement corrective actions
  • Use good problem-solving skills to determine root cause of failures and drive product improvement initiatives.
  • Manager the Non-Conformance Program including Pareto analysis and Root Cause Analysis (8D or similar format) and track to closure.
  • Participates in the development and oversight of product acceptance criteria
  • Development of quality control plans which include the identification of critical control points, preventive measures, monitoring procedures and verification procedures
  • Facilitate and maintain FMEA's for Rinnai developed products
  • Ensure compliance with Rinnai quality system and maintain ISO certification for manufacturing.
  • Manage the site calibration program.
  • Manage the document control system.
  • Promote adherence to quality standards, test methodologies, quality plans, documents and procedures as well as records and objective evidence of activities.
  • Develop, collect and analyze quality metrics.
  • Maintains Quality Management System (QMS) documented information including revision control and training/mentoring records and identifying and mitigating potential risks of change.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as required
REQUIREMENTS
KNOWLEDGE
  • Bachelor of Science or equivalent quality work experience
  • Bachelor of Science in the fields of Mechanical or Industrial Engineering a plus
  • Quality systems such as ISO9000 or TS16949
  • Internal ISO auditor process
  • Inspection techniques and tools
  • Statistical Process Control
  • Manufacturing / Assembly environments
  • Manufacturing Procedures and specifications
  • Understanding of component Prints
  • MS Office
SKILLS
  • Able to manage and control quality records
  • Will have a thorough understanding of problem-solving and quality improvement tools and techniques
  • Includes knowledge of management and planning tools, quality tools, preventive and corrective actions, and how to overcome barriers to quality improvements.
  • Proficiency in using statistical, quality and continuous improvement methods, and data analysis to diagnose and correct improper quality control practices.
  • Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Use auditing techniques to get an understanding of processes
  • Able to use MS Office products to communicate quality data
  • Can communicate effectively by using written and oral skills.
