Senior Environmental Health & Safety Manager - Chicago, IL
nnThe Environmental Health & Safety Manager will lead the planning and execution of all HSE activities in our manufacturing facility, including standards and procedures, capability processes, reporting, compliance and audit. Define, review standards and legislation applicable to the site. Identify and manage safety risks, validate designs for our Environmental, Health, and Safety projects and modifications, and support defined work processes to improve application and effectiveness. Maintain all EHS regulatory requirements for the plant.
nnCompensation : $165,000 - $190,000 + 25% bonus + LTI.

nnJob Description:
nLead implementation of all HSE programs and processes. Prepare and build annual plans for facility/function-wide HSE initiatives.
nSupport the implementation of work processes, such as the Safety Pillar, to enhance the application and efficacy of HSE protocols.
nThoroughly document all pertinent internal standards and relevant legislation.
nMaintain continuous compliance and manage relationships with the legal department and local authorities.
nUphold adherence to HSE regulatory requirements for the plant.
nOversee the coordinated execution of all HSE programs and procedures.
nCollaborate in the development and consensus-building of annual plans for comprehensive HSE initiatives across the facility or function.
nStrategically plan, budget, and control the annual capital budget allocated to HSE, enabling the execution of the HSE plan and ensuring conformity with internal and external compliance standards.
nProvide specialized HSE expertise for the facility/function, particularly concerning new projects and change management endeavors.
nFacilitate comprehensive risk assessments and implement corrective measures to mitigate or eliminate potential accidents or asset losses that may jeopardize the well-being of company personnel, contractors, or visitors.
nEstablish and maintain a talent pool through training, mentorship, and succession planning. Foster the professional development and learning capabilities of Safety specialists.
nGuarantee that facility standards align with both company policies and governmental/community regulations.
nEnforce a culture of safety by promoting training and coaching activities. Ensure widespread comprehension of safety standards and consciousness throughout the plant organization.
nAssume responsibility for Health, Safety, and Environmental matters within the production site.
nnQualifications :
nBachelor’s Degree is a requirement.
nPrevious experience as a Health, Safety, and Environment Manager within a manufacturing environment.
nProven track record in team management, change management, and project leadership.
nExceptional interpersonal and influencing skills, adept at building relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all organizational levels.
nProficient in Health and Safety auditing processes.
nMinimum of 5 years’ progressive experience, demonstrating thought leadership in an industrial context.
nExperience with Health & Safety management software.
nDemonstrated proficiency in building functional and plant teams, fostering motivational environments.
