nJob Summary Northside Family Dental is seeking an Expanded Function Dental Assistant (EFDA). Our office serves a diverse patient population in northeast Columbus, and offers a comfortable, family-oriented work environment where patients are not treated like numbers, and the staff is valued like family. nResponsibilities
nAssist dentist during procedures as needed and other tasks associated with assisting the daily workflow of the office
nAdhere to all health and safety regulations and office policies
nPrepare patients and the work area for treatments and procedures
nSterilize dental instruments
nPlace fillings- use restorative materials to place, sculpt & polish fillings, check the bite occlusion, and make sure that the area flosses well
nSealants application – applying a thin layer of plastic on teeth to seal them and prevent cavities
nFluoride application – applying fluoride gel to the teeth for cavity prevention
nCoronal polishing – buffing away small, soft plaque deposits from the teeth for additional cleaning
nDental charting – creating a chart that lists and describes the condition of a patient’s teeth
nSchedule patient appointments as needed
nQualifications
nRegistered as an EFDA by the Ohio State Dental Board
nReceived a state certificate in coronal polishing from the Ohio State Board of Dentistry
nCurrent CPR certification (re-certification provided)
n2-3 years minimum experience working in a dental practice as an EFDA
nAbility to comply with safety procedures, rules, and regulations in order to maintain a clean and safe working environment
nWorking knowledge of dental terminology, equipment, and practices
nComfortable working with a diverse patient population
