Immediate opening for a Jr. Structural Engineer in Birmingham, ALnSummary:nSelectek is looking for a JR Structural Engineer with a background in residential, commercial, or industrial industries.nÂnJob Responsibilities:nnProvide engineering and consulting on a variety of projects including the structural design for new and existing buildings; the investigation of buildings for structural and materials failures, for condition assessments, and for analytical studies; analysis and design for the rehabilitation of existing and historic buildings; and structural design for specialty structures and structural shop drawings.nWork closely with a variety of clients, including Architects, Engineers, Private and Public Company Owners, Commercial, and ManufacturersnKnowledge of engineering principles and structural design practices. Ability to regularly perform calculations involving statics and solid mechanics (stress, strain, beam theory) is a requirement.nProficient in the use of computer aided design software (AutoCAD), as well as, structural design software (RISA,RAM – Bentley Products).nFollow safety rules, guidelines and standards for all projects. Participate in pre-task planning.
