Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech-language interventions to general education students as directed by the supervising SLP, in individual or small-group settings.
- Assist with preparation of therapy materials and visual supports.
- Collect data and document student performance to assist in progress monitoring.
- Maintain accurate service records and logs in compliance with district and state regulations.
- Assist in screening procedures and informal assessments as permitted under licensure guidelines.
- Collaborate with staff and families under the supervision of the SLP to promote communication growth in various settings.
- Participate in training and team meetings as assigned.
- Associate's or bachelor's degree in speech-language pathology assisting, communication sciences, or a related field.
- Minnesota SLPA certification or eligibility to work under an SLP's supervision as a paraprofessional in a speech-language role.
- Previous experience working in schools or with children in a therapeutic setting.
- Familiarity with common speech-language disorders and educational interventions.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining clear communication with the supervising SLP.
