Click here to view the 2023-25 ESP salary schedule. Position is compensated per the district paraprofessional agreement and is benefits-eligible for both medical and dental coverage.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Provide direct speech-language interventions to general education students as directed by the supervising SLP, in individual or small-group settings.
  2. Assist with preparation of therapy materials and visual supports.
  3. Collect data and document student performance to assist in progress monitoring.
  4. Maintain accurate service records and logs in compliance with district and state regulations.
  5. Assist in screening procedures and informal assessments as permitted under licensure guidelines.
  6. Collaborate with staff and families under the supervision of the SLP to promote communication growth in various settings.
  7. Participate in training and team meetings as assigned.
Knowledge and Skills:
  1. Associate's or bachelor's degree in speech-language pathology assisting, communication sciences, or a related field.
  2. Minnesota SLPA certification or eligibility to work under an SLP's supervision as a paraprofessional in a speech-language role.
  3. Previous experience working in schools or with children in a therapeutic setting.
  4. Familiarity with common speech-language disorders and educational interventions.
  5. Ability to work independently while maintaining clear communication with the supervising SLP.
