Roles & Responsibilities:
  • 2+ in Years in Medical Device Industry.
  • Lead and or support early innovation / proof of concept development work.
  • Develop 3D CAD models using Solidworks or similar CAD modelling platforms.
  • With guidance from lead engineer, fabricate mechanical devices (silicone and non-silicone), fixtures, and other prototypes in the R&D labs and or on the manufacturing floor.
  • Help design, iterate and test prototypes. This includes documenting test results and communicating to the project team.
  • Conduct research toward new product or process development or development toward improvement of existing products or process.
  • pply knowledge of scientific and engineering principles to a broad range of assignments and contribute inventions, new designs, new processes and techniques to solve technical problems based on customer needs.
  • Extended responsibilities include programming custom robots and custom robotic spray booths.
  • Responsible for ensuring personal and company compliance with all Federal, State, local and company regulations, policies and procedures for Health, Safety and Environmental compliance.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as needed/assigned by the manager.
Skills:
  • Strong Experience in drawing and model designing with CAD software such as Solidworks is required.
  • Comfortable in spending significant time in the labs and using and/or learning tools, presses, ovens.
  • Knowledge and experience in product development processes and design control is preferred.
  • Experience in developing and executing Design of Experiments and test methods; statistical tool usage strongly preferred.
  • Experience with polymer-based manufacturing and/or device design preferred.
  • Interest/aptitude in robot programming desired.
  • Previous experience with mechanical testing and/or laboratory test method development desired.
  • In-depth knowledge of design of medical devices.
