Job Summary
Our client is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant responsible for ensuring smooth operations within the medical office environment. This role involves extensive scheduling, assisting in procedures, and providing exceptional customer service to treat patients with utmost care and professionalism.
Responsibilities / Job Duties
- Retrieve messages, respond to calls from various stakeholders, and document information in patient charts as delegated by the physician.
- Fax reports to relevant entities and handle death certificates.
- Maintain patient flow to minimize wait times and ensure an efficient appointment schedule.
- Assist providers with examinations and procedures, follow orders, and communicate results.
- Conduct various tests and upload results, including spirometry, PFTs, and injections.
- Review and document EMR chart histories prior to visits, including vital signs and health information.
- Provide patient education on routine tasks and procedures, and manage test requests and prescription refills.
- Organize and prepare exam rooms and work areas, ensuring cleanliness and adequate stocking of supplies.
- Support MA lead in training new hires and maintaining EMR documentation practices.
- Uphold patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA Guidelines.
- Display professionalism and maintain cooperative relationships with the healthcare team.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) and medical documentation.
- Strong organizational abilities to manage workload and maintain the medical environment.
- Paid Sick Leave (Medix provides paid sick leave according to state and local sick leave ordinances).
- Health Benefits / Dental / Vision (Medix offers 6 different health plans: 3 Major Medical Plans, 2 Fixed Indemnity Plans (Standard and Preferred), and 1 Minimum Essential Coverage (MEC) Plan. Eligibility for health benefits is based on verifying that an average of 30 hours per week during the first 4 weeks of the work assignment has been met. If you meet eligibility requirements and take action to enroll, you will be covered no earlier than 60 days into your assignment, depending on plan selection(s)).
