nJob Description:
nWe are currently initiating a search for a Bridge Engineer/Inspector . This position will be located in our Toledo, OH office, candidates should be within commuting distance of the Toledo office.
nThe successful candidate will be an experienced professional with a full understanding of bridge inspection and engineering industry practices. They will solve various bridge engineering design, analysis, and inspection challenges. The role involves both office and field work, including on-site bridge inspections, technical oversight, review of inspection reports, load ratings, and design and field oversight of bridge and culvert repairs. The position offers opportunities for engineering design, analysis, inspection, and executing technical decisions to ensure high-quality project delivery for bridge replacements, rehabilitations, and preservations.

nResponsibilities:

Plan, and perform bridge inspections in accordance with NBI Standards and all safety guidelines

Perform load ratings with AASHTOWare Bridge Rating (BrR) software
n n - n
Assist with bridge design and rehabilitation projects - performing design calculations, estimates, and specifications as well as assist with bridge rating calculations and reports.

Monitoring of project budgets and schedules
n n - n
Experience performing NBIS inspection of various types of bridges
n n - n
Completion of FHWA-NHI- 130055 (Safety Inspection of In-service Bridges)
n n - n
Qualified NBIS team leader for bridge inspections per 23CFR650
n n - n
Experience with bridge engineering design and analysis software and standard Microsoft Office Suite products
n n - n
Ability to work independently
n n - n
Record of safe working habits
n n - n
Physical ability to perform field work year-round in adverse weather conditions and work around bridges, roads, rail, and tunnels

Physical ability to carry ladders and gear, work at heights, and work in water with waders

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Willingness to travel

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering

5+ years of bridge inspection

Ohio Professional Engineering License (or ability to apply within 1 yr)

Familiarity-with-Bridge-inspection-Management-Systems

Demonstrated knowledge of structural design and analysis

Additional FHWAJNHI Training - Fracture Critical, Moveable Bridge, Tunnel, or Ancillary Structures

Proficiency with Bentley tools: MicroStation, ProjectWise, Open Bridge Modeler.
