nPosition Summary:
nWe are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Electrical Engineer with deep firmware experience to join our growing Active Implant team. You will work closely with a team of mechanical engineers to conceptualize and commercialize innovative medical devices to meaningfully impact the lives of patients with musculoskeletal disorders. The ideal candidate will have a strong background designing, building, and testing embedded systems, including firmware design and development. This role requires a balance of creative thinking, analytical design, hands-on prototyping and testing, and systematic product development.
nEssential Functions:
nDesign, build, and test connected embedded systems, ensuring adherence to industry standards and performance metrics (e.g. IEC 60601-1)
nLead the design, build, and test of firmware for microcontroller-based systems
nArchitect, design, analyze, program, implement, debug, and modify firmware
nTranslate product requirements into design specifications and verification tests
nDesign PCBAs containing analog, digital, and embedded components
nDevelop and build test fixtures, test procedures, and test scripts (e.g. Python)
nWork independently as well as on small teams using agile methodologies
nCollaborate with a team of electrical, mechanical, and software engineers to integrate system hardware and firmware into market-ready medical device products
nEvaluate real-world system performance with hands-on verification and validation testing
nAdhere to project timelines to deliver on-time designs, prototypes, test results, and documentation
nContribute to the growth of Globus Medical's dominant intellectual property portfolio
nEnsures Compliance with applicable governmental laws, rules, and regulations, both in the United States and internationally, by completing introductory and annual training and maintaining knowledge of compliance as it applies to your role
nRepresents the company in a professional manner and upholds the highest standards of ethical business practices and socially responsible conduct in all interactions with other employees, customers, suppliers, and other third parties

nQualifications:
nBachelor's Degree in electrical engineering with 3-5 years of electrical engineering experience required
nExperience in analog and digital circuit design including signal processing, a/d, d/a, power; embedded design in C is a plus
nExperience with sensored and sensorless motor control techniques
nProficient with electrical test equipment; oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, etc.
nFamiliar with design for test, analyzing information, and reporting results
nExperience with schematic capture software - Altium preferred
nExperience with writing Firmware
nExperience with circuit modelling software such as PSpice or LTSpice
nExperience with PCB development including schematic, layout, building, debugging and component selection
nExperience with NRTL safety and EMC testing in accordance with IEC 60601
nExperience working in the medical device company is a plus
nExcellent interpersonal and communication skills
nMotivated self-starter with good time management and organizational skills
nProficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications
nAbility to travel up to 10% of the time
