Job Summary
The Automation Engineer II-III is responsible for improving workforce productivity and quality by anticipating and eliminating potential delays through planning, scheduling, and coordination of maintenance/calibration resources, parts, materials, and equipment access. This role includes installing automation machines, ensuring proper operation, designing and programming controllers, simulating, testing, and managing automation processes, as well as training staff and managing a team to meet safety and quality standards.
Location: Bothell, WA
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week
Compensation:
Level II: $94,000 - $129,250
Level III: $108,080 - $148,610

Essential Job Duties / Responsibilities
- Lead/participate in the design, integration, implementation, testing, commissioning, and evaluation of new computer-based automation systems.
- Manage projects and resources related to automation.
- Simulate and test automated machinery or processes.
- Design, engineer, test, and troubleshoot control systems.
- Lead problem-solving activities and implement solutions.
- Interact with internal staff and shop floor personnel.
- Maintain and enhance system documentation.
- Interface with management, engineers, and teams.
- Streamline operations for efficiency, cost savings, safety, and reliability.
- Maintain technical project files.
- Assist with budget, expenses, and P&L management.
- Develop and manage automation capital projects.
- Manage special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
- Adaptable to changing business conditions and schedules.
- Detail-oriented with consistent delivery of error-free results.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize.
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in automation, process control, or engineering (Computer, Electrical, or Mechanical) or equivalent experience.
- FDA/GMP knowledge required.
- Minimum 2 years designing, installing, and troubleshooting complex automation systems and leading automation projects.
- Experience simulating and testing manufacturing automation processes.
- Experience programming automation components in Delta V.
- Experience developing and maintaining documentation for automation including commissioning and validation.
- Experience training staff on new or changed processes or equipment.
- Strong communication skills for multi-level audiences.
- Versatile with automation systems such as Delta V.
- Professional automation certification.
- Experience with CMMS systems (Maximo, BMRAM, etc.) and Rockwell Automation software.
- Ability to work prolonged periods sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, and stretching.
- Ability to climb ladders and stairs.
- Exposure to wet, humid, outdoor, and noisy environments.
- Ability to lift/move up to 45 pounds regularly and up to 70 pounds occasionally.
