Job Description:

n

As a Rough Carpenter at United Trades of America, you will play a key role in the early stages of construction, contributing to the structural framework of buildings and ensuring the stability and integrity of various structures.

n

Responsibilities:

n
    n
  1. Framing and Structural Work: Construct, erect, install, and repair structures and fixtures of wood, plywood, and wallboard using hand and power tools.
  2. n
  3. Blueprint Reading: Interpret construction drawings and blueprints to understand project specifications and requirements.
  4. n
  5. Formwork and Shuttering: Build forms for concrete construction projects, including foundations, columns, and slabs.
  6. n
  7. Installation of Structural Components: Install and anchor materials, such as metal studs, girders, and rafters, to provide structural support to buildings.
  8. n
  9. Roofing Work: Assist in the installation of roof systems, including trusses, sheathing, and other related components.
  10. n
  11. Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines, ensuring a secure working environment for yourself and team members.
  12. n
  13. Material Handling: Lift and carry construction materials, tools, and equipment as needed for rough carpentry tasks.
  14. n
  15. Collaboration: Work closely with other construction professionals, including project managers and other trades, to ensure seamless coordination and project success.

Qualifications:

  1. Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. n
  3. Experience: Proven experience as a Rough Carpenter with a strong portfolio showcasing diverse rough carpentry projects.
  4. n
  5. Skills: Proficiency in rough carpentry techniques and methodologies. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and blueprints. Familiarity with a variety of woodworking tools and equipment. Strong attention to detail and precision in workmanship.

  7. Physical Fitness: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, carrying, and working in various weather conditions.
  8. n
  9. Safety Awareness: Commitment to safety protocols with a keen awareness of potential hazards.
  10. n
  11. Team Player: Excellent teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues.
  12. n
  13. Certifications: Carpentry or construction-related certifications are advantageous.
