The Beautiful and historic Renaissance Des Moines Savery Downtown hotel is looking for experienced and detail-oriented Lead Cook to join our Kitchen Team. If you have a passion to create and coach team members all while having fun, this is the career for you!
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain health and sanitation standards.
- Cover label and date all food products.
- Open kitchen and Close kitchen in absence of supervisors.
- Adhere to all prepared written recipes for all menu items including breakfast, room service, Grab and Go, and dinner menus.
- Report out of stock items to the supervisor.
- Prepare for the next shift and ensure there is inventory.
- Help set-up restaurant and employee cafeteria buffet.
- Supervise and assist dishwashers and pantry personnel.
- Perform the duties of the Prep List schedule.
- Prepare all dressings and cold sauces.
- Assist with banquet preparation, as needed.
- Minimum lifting and pulling of 50 pounds.
- Pushing, bending, stooping, upward reaching, manual dexterity.
- Standing for long periods of time.
- Understands the overall functions and machinery in a Kitchen
- Must be flexible with schedule and adjust to business needs of the Hotel.
