Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Work within a small company atmosphere with other marine engineers, other naval architects, and designers to solve engineering challenges n
- Projects include newbuild and refit designs on all different types of vessels, so the role will be involved with ships, yachts, tugs, pleasure boats, passenger vessels, etc n
- Create engineering drawings for both new construction and refit projects n
- Manage projects, including creating work scopes and schedules, communicating with clients, coordinating technical vendors, and attending project meetings n
- Manage the class and regulatory submittal, review, and approval process n
- Some travel and fieldwork will be required ‐ engineers must be able to work safely aboard ships and in a shipyard environment, including climbing ladders and navigating walkways, gangways, and confined spaces n
Minimum Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Naval Architecture n
- A working knowledge of ship building rules and regulations, as well as classification society and Coast Guard requirements n
- Propulsion and steering design knowledge n
- AutoCAD competency n
- Rhino competency n
- Knowledge of AutoHydro (or GHS) n
- Valid driver's license, US passport, already working in the U.S. and TWIC card (or ability to obtain) n
Preferred Qualifications

- 1‐3 years' experience in the maritime industry n
- Familiarity with machinery and systems aboard commercial ships, workboats, tug/barges, passenger vessels, and yachts n
- Shipyard newbuild or repair engineering, construction n
- Understanding of marine structural engineering n
- Experience with class and USCG submittal and approval process n
- Rhino or ShipConstructor software experience n
