POSITION: Food Service: Kitchen Helpers, Part-time and Full Time
LOCATION: TCU Le Center PK-8 and TCU High School
POSITION DETAILS:
  • Student contact days plus various workshop days throughout the year

  • The Kitchen Helper performs various duties, including but not limited to, prepping food, recording items prepared, set up, service, clean up, and sanitation of the food service operation. Provides high-quality standards for safety/sanitation and meal quality. This position may also operate the point of sale system for daily meal service.
  • Reports to the Site Lead Cook and Food Service Director
SALARY: Per the food service contract; $16.91 per hour
BENEFITS: Paid Time Off, Retirement & Insurance

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minnesota Food Protection Manager Certificate, preferred but not required
  • Completion of USDA Professional Standards required hours
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Assists with food preparation, serving, and clean-up in accordance with USDA school meal program guidelines and food safety standards.
  • Maintains a clean and sanitary kitchen, including washing dishes, wiping surfaces, and properly storing food and supplies.
  • Helps set up and serve student meals in a friendly and efficient manner.
  • Follows all food safety and hygiene procedures, including proper handwashing and use of gloves.
  • Able to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting (up to 40lbs), bending, twisting, and moving equipment.
  • Works well as part of a team and takes direction from the kitchen lead and food service director.
  • Excellent customer service and communications skills; create a positive, welcoming environment for all students.
  • Willing to complete required food safety and job training provided by the district.
