Summary The Supervisory Health System Specialist - Credentialing and Privileging Manager position is located in the Office of the Chief of Staff at VA San Diego Healthcare System. The incumbent oversees all functions related to healthcare providers' professional credentials supporting all divisions of the VAMC in accordance with VHA Credentialing and Privileging, Directives, VA Handbooks, Policies, Memos & Notices. Duties This is an Open Continuous Announcement until August 15, 2025. Qualified applicants will be considered and referred as vacancies become available. Duties include, but are not limited to: Providing direct technical and administrative supervision to employees. Ensuring employees accomplish quality work that complies with regulatory requirements, TJC standards, laws, and VHA policies, and achieving the goals of the C&P Program. Identifying resources needed for the facility's C&P program and presenting them to leadership. Providing guidance to leadership and C&P staff on all matters related to the program. Attending committee meetings and presenting providers' credentials, histories, and red flags. Serving as the primary consultant for the C&P program, analyzing audit results, interpreting report card data, researching credentialing requirements, and identifying privileging issues. Coordinating with Service Chiefs for annual reviews of privileges and scope of practice. Acting as the Point of Contact and Subject Matter Expert for credentialing updates, HR, providers, and hiring services. Monitoring and auditing the C&P program using VetPro reports and other tools. Ensuring accurate completion of national reporting requirements, including security reports, website accuracy, and shared provider registry. Monitoring staffing resources for the C&P program. Collaborating with HR for provider onboarding, exit reviews, privileging actions, and performance guidance. Ensuring quality assurance and continuous improvement in the C&P processes. Serving as the administrator for the National Practitioner Data Bank, Federation of Medical Boards, and Our Providers Database. Work Schedule and Conditions Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm.
