Responsibilities
- Lead structural engineering design for a variety of building projects.
- Collaborate closely with architects and engineers from multiple disciplines.
- Plan, coordinate, mentor, and assign tasks to structural engineers on the team, contributing to team growth and development.
- Manage workplans for structural personnel, develop fee proposals, and support marketing.
- Keep project management informed of structural progress and communicate changes in schedule, services, or project scope.
- Perform structural analysis, calculations, design, and detailing for various framing and foundation systems using all primary building materials and applicable codes.
- Oversee the development and completion of structural drawings and construction documents.
- Act as the primary structural engineering contact during construction administration, including coordinating meetings, reviewing submittals, responding to RFIs and field questions, and conducting site visits.
- Collaborate virtually and share knowledge with engineers across offices to support project needs and promote consistency and learning.
- Participate in construction administration and regular site observations.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited university; Master's preferred.
- 8-10 years of experience in structural design and analysis of steel, concrete, masonry, and wood buildings, with a focus on laboratory, healthcare, commercial, and educational facilities.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) and Structural Engineer (SE) in California (required).
- Extensive working knowledge of California Building Code (CBC), ASCE 7 & 41, AISC, ACI, NDS, and related standards.
- Proficiency in structural analysis/design software such as ETABS, SAP, SAFE, RAM, RISA, Enercalc, or similar programs.
- Strong planning and organizational capabilities, comfortable in a dynamic, fast-paced setting.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and eager to embrace new challenges.
- Skilled in collaborating with multidisciplinary teams-architects, consultants, and clients-to deliver integrated design solutions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to lead client meetings and convey technical concepts clearly.
- Expertise in project management with ability to juggle multiple projects, budgets, schedules, and deliverables concurrently.
