Compensation: $90,000 - $100,000 DOE
Location: Stafford, VA
Schedule: Mon - Fri, 8:00AM - 5:00PM

Manufacturing Engineer Responsibilities:
  • New Product Introduction (NPI) Support:
  • Collaborate with R&D, design, and supply chain teams to transition products from development to production.
  • Develop and validate manufacturing processes for new products, including tooling, fixtures, and assembly methods.
  • Participate in design reviews to ensure manufacturability and cost-effectiveness.
  • Technical Data Package (TDP) Support:
  • Interpret and clarify engineering drawings, PCBA schematics, BOMs, and specifications for internal teams and external suppliers.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for technical questions related to the TDP.
  • Ensure documentation is complete, accurate, and production-ready.
  • Process Engineering:
  • Define and optimize assembly and test processes for electro-mechanical systems.
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for production issues.
  • Implement lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Work closely with procurement, quality, and supplier engineering teams to ensure alignment on technical requirements.
  • Support supplier onboarding and technical training as needed.
  • Collaborate with design and R&D teams to ensure manufacturability of new products.
  • Implement lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives.
    Manufacturing Engineer Requirements:
    • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering (or related field).
    • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, preferably in electro-mechanical or defense/aerospace systems.
    • Strong understanding of NPI processes and design-for-manufacturing (DFM) principles.
    • Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, GD&T, PCBA schematics, and BOMs.
    • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks) and manufacturing systems (e.g., PDM, Autodesk Vault, SW Composer).
    • Strong understanding of electro-mechanical assembly processes.
    • Experience working with suppliers and contract manufacturers.
    • Experience with various manufacturing processes like CNC, Injection Molding, Sheet Metal, 3D printing and Composites.
    • Familiarity with ERP and PLM systems.
    • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
    Manufacturing Engineer Preferred Attributes:
    • Knowledge of IPC standards and industry best practices for electronics manufacturing.
    • Hands-on experience with assembly, testing, and troubleshooting of electro-mechanical systems.
    • Lean Six Sigma certification or equivalent process improvement training.
