Job Summary
The Technology & Innovation Organization (TIO) is a newly formed division dedicated to driving technological advancements and fostering innovation across HP. Our vision is to transform HP into a technology leader that enables intelligence at the edge.
As a part of the TIO Strategy team, you will lead the development and articulation of enterprise-level strategy that shapes HP's future technology bets. This role is responsible for helping frame TIO's long-term aspiration, where-to-play and how-to-win choices, including identifying and shaping new growth opportunities at the intersection of emerging technologies and strategic whitespace.
You will lead market & competitive analysis across the technology landscape, frame up differentiation and growth opportunities, development of investment theses, while actively helping build HP's innovation ecosystem through engagement with startups, partners, and external collaborators. You will help identify and synthesize insights into clear narratives and recommendations for HP's executive leadership and Board.
The ideal candidate brings a strong combination of strategic thinking, business acumen, and communication skills - someone who can structure ambiguous challenges, influence and align senior stakeholders, and drive execution on critical business initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead structured market, customer, and competitive analysis in emerging domains including GenAI, edge AI, and domain-specific applications
- Identify and validate new opportunity areas by assessing unmet needs, industry shifts, and HP's right-to-win
- Conduct market segmentation and TAM analysis on next-horizon technology opportunities, including GenAI and edge compute, with business model analysis to guide prioritization
- Identify and assess emerging use cases aligned with HP's technology vision and business goals
- Build investment theses and recommend strategic actions (e.g., build, partner, invest) aligned with HP's long-term goals
- Engage with startups, VCs, and external innovation networks to map and activate the ecosystem
- Frame and deliver strategic narratives, insights, and recommendations to the ELT and Board-including storyline development, frameworks, supporting data, and visualizations
- Strategic thinking and structured problem-solving
- Strong analytical and market modeling capabilities (e.g., TAM, competitive positioning, ecosystem analysis)
- Deep experience use case prioritization, and business model analysis
- Clear, concise executive communication and narrative development for senior audiences
- Familiarity with startup and venture ecosystems with the ability to evaluate external innovation
- Ability to connect industry signals to internal capabilities and strategic priorities
- Executive communication, narrative development, and storytelling for senior audiences
- 10-15 years of experience in strategy, corporate development, product strategy, or technology consulting roles
- Experience conducting market assessments, TAM analysis, and building investment theses in emerging technology areas (e.g., AI, edge, cloud, developer productivity)
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and financial modeling skills, with experience in market analysis and investment strategy
- Experience preparing and delivering executive-level presentations, board reports, and strategic recommendations
- Ability to navigate ambiguity, drive alignment among senior stakeholders, and execute critical, time-sensitive initiatives
- Exceptional written and verbal communication, storytelling, and influencing skills
- MBA highly desired, or advanced university degree. Bachelor's degree required

The pay range for this role is $130,350 to $200,750 USD annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to United States of America candidates only). Pay varies by work location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
