Job Description
The Transportation Engineer will focus on designing safe, efficient, and sustainable transportation systems, including roadway, multimodal, and traffic flow projects. You'll lead technical analyses and collaborate with agencies and stakeholders to address Hawai'i's evolving mobility needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct traffic impact studies, traffic modeling, and safety analyses using Synchro and VISSIM.
- Design roadway and intersection improvements to enhance traffic flow.
- Prepare GIS-based reports, technical studies, and transportation plans.
- Collaborate with state DOT, local municipalities, and contractors.
- Support environmental assessments and infrastructure planning.
- Degree: BS in Civil Engineering (Master's preferred).
- Experience: 5-10 years in transportation engineering or traffic analysis.
- Licensure: PE or PTOE preferred.
- Technical Skills: Synchro, VISSIM, HCS, AutoCAD, and GIS.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
