Position Summary:
- s HSE Manager / Safety Manager you will be responsible for overseeing and maintaining all safety programs, regulatory compliance initiatives, and safety policies.
- This role has comprehensive control and accountability over all aspects of safety, including but not limited to: OSHA Regulatory Programs , safety reporting, Workers' Compensation, internal safety policies, Medical First Response, hazard identification, injury case management and trend analysis, Management of Change (MoC), training, and the safety budget.
- The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical expertise in safety, proven leadership abilities, and hands-on experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Develop, manage, and review all regulatory compliance programs (e.g., OSHA).
- Create, implement, and maintain plant safety policies.
- ssign, track, and report on all regulatory and safety training activities.
- Manage Workers' Compensation cases, including doctor visits, case reviews, light-duty assignments, reporting, and financial forecasting.
- Conduct plant audits, provide hazard identification training, develop mitigation strategies, and track and report findings.
- dminister and control the Health & Safety budget (e.g., PPE, medical supplies, first aid).
- Prepare weekly and monthly safety reports covering all program areas.
- Serve as a Medical First Responder and provide basic first aid.
- Investigate incidents, identify root causes, and manage injury and illness cases using IAM or similar systems.
- Conduct safety reviews as part of the Management of Change (MoC) process.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree required, with a minimum of 5 years of safety management or leadership experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment .
- Strong knowledge and understanding of:
- OSHA regulations.
- NSI standards.
- NFPA standards.
- Workers' Compensation laws.
- Hazard recognition and control.
- Certified or trained in First Aid, CPR, and AED response.
- Demonstrated leadership and team collaboration skills.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- bility to work independently and cross-functionally with plant leadership.
- Minimal travel required (10 to 20 days per year).
- Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 60 pounds as needed.
- Primary work setting is in an office.
- When working in the plant, exposure may include extreme temperatures, high noise levels, mechanical hazards, elevated work areas, and airborne substances (dust, mist, gas, fumes).
- Extensive walking or climbing may be required.
