BASIC FUNCTION
This position is responsible for all technical activities and performance of production test cells supporting our assembly lines in the Mosel facility. In this role you will be responsible for all aspects of safety, people, quality, delivery, and cost, by managing via a cross-functional matrixed organizational structure. This position will also require heavy customer interaction through management and execution of witness testing throughout the Mosel facility. This is a full-time on-site position.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage a test support department to ensure short and long-term testing requirements are safety in place for long-term Rehlko growth.
Coordinate/facilitate customer witness tests, demonstrating Rehlko's commitment to customer satisfaction.
Ensure proper execution of all test procedures, both internal and external.
Develop and execute annual goals to improve safety, associate engagement, quality, delivery and cost.
Partner with area managers to create and support the strategy for the implementation of Lean systems in the test cells. This includes line setup, operation, 5S implementation, creation and utilization of visual management and control systems, standard work and variance control to ensure line cycle time is met among others.
Lead and develop our management for daily improvement structure using Gemba board meetings, Gemba walks and tier level escalation meetings to ensure current day issues are addressed and root cause problem solving is utilized to keep issues from recurring.
Ensure that the duties and responsibilities of team members are clearly defined and communicated to them. Monitor performance and review results with each member on a regular basis, provide coaching and developmental opportunities that enhance their skills and support their career aspirations. Promote an atmosphere of team-based performance. Drive associate engagement & retention through actionable development plans.
Develop and implement cross-training plans to upskill team members and provide coverage during absences. Provide coaching and development opportunities for team members to participate in activities that enhance their skills and support their career aspirations.
Promote harmonious working relationships between supervision and support functions
and associates. Direct / Sponsor continuous improvement and kaizen activities.
Prepare reports, work on special projects, and perform other duties as assigned.
RELATIONSHIPS AND CONTACTS
Reports directly to Sr. Manager - Manufacturing Engineering Provides direct supervision for test engineers and test technicians. Provides indirect support for test associates, area managers, design and manufacturing engineering, sales, and customer service.
ORGANIZATION RELATIONSHIPS
Daily contact with direct reports to review production status and problem areas.
Frequent contact with Maintenance, Quality, Materials, Purchasing, Scheduling, Engineering and Superintendent.
Moderate contact with Human Resources, Safety Department, Facilities Engineering, Customer Service and Sales.
Frequent contact with end customers.
External Business Relationships:
Occasional contact with U.A.W. Representatives Occasional contact with customers regarding production supply and quality problems.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Electrical Engineering degree from an ABIT accredited school required
- Minimum of five years of manufacturing/electrical operations experience
- Demonstrate Technical Acumen, Communication and Leadership Skills
- A minimum of three years of managerial experience is preferred.
- A minimum of three years of technical electrical generation experience.
- Must possess a strong, stable temperament and is a decisive individual.
- Should operate with a firm, but fair management style.
The Salary range for this position is $117,000.00-$149,500.00.The specific Salary rate offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's experience, their education, and the work location.
