TMB, Inc is seeking candidates for a Design Engineer to support NAVSEA Acquisition Program Office Engineering Support Services requirements. This position is contingent upon the award of the PMS 406 contract.

Responsibilitiesn

    n
  • Review and analyze UxV designs, addressing technical issues that arise during design and construction, and in the development of the future UxV requirements and acquisition documents.
  • n
  • Provide engineering support as requested by the customer to support technical and project decisions and maintain technical configuration control.
  • n
  • Perform engineering analyses of customer mission and performance requirements to define UxV attributes in engineering terms.
  • n
  • Perform engineering studies leading to the allocation of UxV attributes to UxV systems in terms of design direction, performance, configuration, space and weight, and arrangement.
  • n
  • Perform design and engineering studies to identify the degree of UxV systems integration required to meet the mission requirements.
  • n
  • Provide Objective Quality Evidence (OQE) of designs in the form of technical products such as drawings, conceptual and product engineering designs, calculations, schematics, reports, etc.
  • n
  • Provide technical assistance with UxV design, and integration, related to subject areas including: machinery, hull form, hull strength, propulsion, electrical systems, auxiliary systems, hydrodynamics, sea keeping and survivability, stability, structures, arrangements, habitability, outfitting, lifesaving and mooring systems, cargo handling systems, unmanned systems, aviation, C4I, combat systems, autonomy, computer science, electronics and other technical areas as necessary.

  • Review and analyze the developing design to ensure that the UxV is functionally balanced and integrated in terms of distribution and location of functions, seaworthiness, mission suitability (effectiveness, survivability), and performance.

  • Identify UxV system characteristics and capabilities of alternative system configurations.

Qualificationsn

    n
  • At least 1 year of relevant experience.
  • n
  • Professional experience in mechanical, structural or electrical/electronic design.
  • n
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • n
  • Professional Engineer License is a plus.
  • n
  • Must be a United States .
  • n
  • Must possess an active DOD Secret security clearance.
  • n
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • n
  • Outstanding verbal and written communications skills.
  • n
  • Ability to perform frequent internal and external customer interface including regularly scheduled and ad hoc meetings.
  • n
  • Ability to travel reasonable distances (up to ½ mile one way) to meet with customers or other company personnel in the execution of job functions.
  • n
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds in order to carry a laptop, notebooks, papers, binders and other tools and equipment required in the execution of job functions.
