Responsible for maintaining the property's general condition concerning all electrical, HVAC, building, plumbing, mechanical, and carpentry work. Complete maintenance request work orders from all departments on a timely basis. Participate in the preventive maintenance program for all building equipment and rooms. Complete other special projects assigned periodically by the Director of Engineering.
Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and repair hotel equipment, facilities, and systems (including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical).
- Executing preventative maintenance, conducting regular inspections, and diagnosing potential issues.
- Reviewing work orders to assess completeness and accuracy.
- Developing and implementing maintenance programs for the Hotel's facilities and equipment.
- Interpret complex electrical and MEP blueprints, schematics, and specifications accurately.
- Safely install, repair, and maintain all MEP systems, fixtures, outlets, and equipment, motors, pumps.
- Ensure strict adherence to local, state, and national codes and regulations.
- Collaborate effectively with team members, contractors, architects, and clients to ensure project success.
- Provide exceptional customer service by professionally addressing team members' and guests' concerns and inquiries.
- Receive daily work assignments from the Director of Engineering and review priorities and special projects.
- Skillfully perform HVAC, plumbing, and electrical maintenance compliant with local codes.
- Interpret intricate MEP blueprints and technical diagrams.
- Use specialized tools for testing and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems.
- Maintain rigorous safety standards throughout all tasks.
- Keep meticulous electrical and mechanical work records, including installations, repairs, and maintenance.
- Perform preventive maintenance on all hotel guest rooms and public areas as scheduled; this requires the individual to inspect and detect items needing repair visually and requires knowledge of a wide variety of maintenance trades.
- Maintain timelines and work schedules per the preventive maintenance program.
- Foster collaborative relationships with the various departments and team members.
- Mentor and train other engineers.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements through continuous learning.
- Effectively manage time to meet project deadlines.
- Check work orders and night reports for any problems. Make rounds checking these problem areas and note any information needed or safety concerns in the Hotel.
- Deliver outstanding guest service.
- Possess a skilled technical knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems and safety protocols.
- Demonstrate adept problem-solving skills for resolving complex electrical and mechanical issues.
- Exhibit keen attention to detail in interpreting blueprints and executing installations.
- Display physical stamina suitable for varied work environments and conditions.

- Activities may encompass indoor or outdoor work, emphasizing meticulous attention to detail.
- Proof of completion of a recognized electrical or mechanical program or equivalent education and experience.
- Proof of completion of a technical training program or related certification during the selection process.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and mathematical skills typically acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to obtain any government-required licenses or certificates.
- Three to five years of Utility Engineer
- Flexible schedules based on hotel business needs.
- Normal manufacturing environment conditions.
- Lifting materials up to 100 pounds frequently.
- Utilization of safety equipment for machinery and tool operation.
- Machinery and tool operation requires safety equipment, including but not limited to eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, work boots, and hard hats. Loose-fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted (See Employee Handbook).
- Fulfill performance standards and adhere to hotel policies, rules, and procedures.
- Openness to changes, modifications, and additions to duties as deemed necessary by the Hotel.
