Thompson First Group is currently seeking a qualified Industrial Electrician for a local client in Finksburg, MD. Candidates who have a background working as an Electrician in an industrial setting are encouraged to apply.
n n nResponsibilities:
n- n
- Troubleshoots to diagnose problems; repairs and performs routine pm on equipment n
- Maintains and updates all process documentation n
- Supports as necessary with equipment modifications for process changes, new models and expansion needs n
- Follows all safety procedures strictly (OSHA) n
- Troubleshoots and repairs various mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic equipment systems which often involves the isolation of the malfunctioning parts n
- Installs, programs, calibrates and monitors Variable Frequency Drives, Instruments and systems n
- Monitors PLC Processor operations and acts as directed or instructed n
- Supports equipment and operations necessary for Safety and Environmental regulations n
- Ensures the equipment is in a safe and working condition and utilizes the Lock-Out Tag-Out program n
- Ensures prompt and regular attendance n
- Ensures the application of Policies and Procedures in all aspects of daily duties and responsibilities. n
Requirements:

- Electrical Safety Precautions n
- General Safety Precautions n
- Equipment Lockout, Tagout requirements n
- Knowledge of Electrical Code "NEC" and "NFPA" n
- High Voltage Switchgear n
- Transformers: Design, purpose, application n
- Use of Test Equipment; millimeters, meggers, oscilloscope, high voltage proximity tester n
- Grounding and shielding requirements n
- Crane Drives and Controls n
Qualifications:
n- n
- Knowledge of AC and DC motor controls is essential. n
- Ability to troubleshoot all phases of electrical circuitry. n
- Work with PLC logic/programs n
- Must have a minimum of 3 years of plant industrial experience. n
- HS/GED required n
