Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Fire Sprinkler Installation Specialist to join our dedicated team. In this role, you will be responsible for the layout, fabrication, assembly, and installation of fire sprinkler systems. You will also maintain piping systems, fixtures, sprinklers, and industrial processing systems to ensure safety and compliance.
Essential Job Duties:
- Install pipe systems and valves.
- Cut, thread, assemble, and bond piping and tubes according to specifications.
- Modify, clean, and maintain pipe systems, units, and fittings.
- Remove and replace worn components to ensure optimal function.
- Follow blueprints to meet product specifications accurately.
- Calculate material measurements to verify all specifications.
- Mentor and coach Fire Sprinkler Fitter Apprentices and Helpers on proper installation techniques.
- Ensure company-provided vehicle is clean and maintained in accordance with company policies.
Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required; advanced technical school training or related work experience preferred.
- Certifications: Current Fire Sprinkler License is mandatory.
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience installing pipe systems and valves required; 5+ years preferred.
- Skills: Must possess basic math skills, mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, customer service skills, decision-making skills, and the ability to multitask. Organizational and troubleshooting skills are essential, along with the capability to train others effectively.
Communication Skills: Proficient in reading, writing, and communicating in English with employees and customers.
Systems and Software Skills: Ability to operate a computer and tablet, and effectively read electronic blueprints is required. Experience with SalesForce and Microsoft Office is preferred.
Other Qualifications:
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Must comply with SFS's Drug and Alcohol policy and Background screening requirements.
Physical & Work Environment Requirements:
- Physical Requirements: Frequent bending, ascending/descending ladders and stairs, kneeling, lifting up to 50lbs, sitting, stooping, twisting, and working at heights.
- Work Environment: Includes frequent local travel and occasional regional and non-regional travel. Work will be performed inside and outside in various temperatures, and may involve exposure to loud noises, cramped quarters, dust, fumes, and odors.
