About the Role

n

We’re looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Project Engineer II to help launch and support a cutting-edge manufacturing facility. In this role, you’ll be responsible for CAD design, infrastructure planning, production workflow optimization, capacity modeling, and cross-functional collaboration. You’ll work hands-on with a diverse team to design layouts, procure equipment, and ensure scalable, efficient operations from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities

    Maintain and update all facility CAD drawings, including equipment layout, infrastructure, and utilities.

    Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement facility and equipment modifications.

  • n
  • n

    Evaluate plant systems and infrastructure for efficiency and regulatory compliance (safety, fire, environmental).

  • n

    Support procurement of production equipment: define specs, assess vendors, and manage contracts and delivery.

  • n

    Design efficient plant layouts and production flows using Lean Manufacturing principles.

  • n
  • n

    Conduct capacity planning based on production forecasts; identify bottlenecks and propose mitigation strategies.

  • n

    Contribute to PFMEA and safety planning; coordinate closely with Process, Electrical, Controls, and MES Engineers.

    Create and maintain process flow diagrams, utility matrices, and layout documentation.

  • n

    Support energy-saving and sustainability initiatives; manage BAS for energy efficiency.

  • n

    Ensure integration of MES systems for traceability and production data analysis.

  • n

    Maintain physical presence on-site and follow all safety protocols.

  • n

    Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

n

Education & Experience

n
    n
  • n

    Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering (or related field) required.

    n
  • n
  • n

    Master’s degree or certifications (e.g., Lean Six Sigma, Certified Energy Manager) .

    n
  • n
  • n

    5+ years of experience in manufacturing or facility planning—experience in Li-ion battery or advanced manufacturing is a plus.

Technical Skills & Knowledge

n
    n
  • n

    Proficient in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks).

    n
  • n
  • n

    Strong understanding of facility utilities: electrical systems, HVAC, compressed air, dust collection.

  • n
  • n

    Experience with Lean Manufacturing, APQP, PFMEA, and capacity planning tools.

  • n
  • n

    Familiarity with MES systems and manufacturing data integration.

  • n
  • n

    Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.

  • n

    Ability to thrive in cross-functional teams and fast-paced environments.

    Must be a U.S. or authorized to work under ITAR regulations.

    Comfortable working on U.S. military-funded projects.
