Role: HVAC Design Engineer
nLocation: Reading Area – 3-4 days on-site
nDuration: 12 months
nRate: £55.05 per hour - Umbrella
nnHVAC Design Engineer needed on contract to join our client, an established aerospace & defence engineering consultancy operating on-site in Reading area.
nn**Please note this role would require current UK SC Clearance - Sole UK Only**
nnWhat the role of the HVAC Design Engineer entails:
nSome of the main duties of the HVAC Design Engineer will include:

- Develop detailed designs and specifications using CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks) n
- Support the safe decommissioning of nuclear facilities, systems, and assets n
- Create and test prototypes ensuring compliance with nuclear safety standards n
- Conduct technical research to inform design and engineering approaches n
- Manage timelines, resources, and budgets in line with nuclear regulations n
- Collaborate across departments to ensure design coherence and safety n
- Prepare comprehensive technical documentation and reports n
- Conduct simulations and virtual testing of mechanical designs n
- Monitor technological advancements and design best practices in the nuclear field n
What experience you need to be the successful HVAC Design Engineer:
nEssential:
n- n
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field n
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in mechanical design engineering, ideally in the nuclear sector n
- Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks) n
- Strong analytical, time management, and communication skills n
- Familiarity with nuclear industry standards and regulations n

- PE certification n
- Experience with FEA (Finite Element Analysis) and simulation tools n
- Knowledge of nuclear-specific materials and manufacturing processes n
