We are looking for an experienced Senior Manufacturing Engineer to play a critical role in our engineering team, focusing on the entire product lifecycle. This position involves overseeing new product introductions, optimizing existing processes, and requalifying legacy products within a regulated machining environment. Our operations utilize advanced manufacturing technologies, including multi-axis CNC milling, EDM (both wire and sinker), and 5-axis grinding.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and refine manufacturing processes for intricate precision components using advanced CNC milling, EDM, and grinding techniques.
- Act as a primary technical liaison for major OEM clients, handling engineering communications and change management effectively.
- Lead efforts in process validation and requalification of existing products while ensuring adherence to established timelines.
- Design machining strategies that enhance quality, efficiency, and tool longevity.
- Work collaboratively with Quality, Operations, and Tooling teams as well as external vendors to deliver scalable production solutions.
- Conduct thorough root cause analysis to implement corrective actions and drive continuous improvements.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide training to operators on implementing new or updated processes.
- Support CAD/CAM programming and simulation using tools such as Mastercam, Vericut, and SolidWorks.
- Participate in audits, first article inspections (FAI), and prepare documentation packages such as PPAP/FAI.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 5-10+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, ideally within aerospace, energy, automotive, or medical device sectors.
- Proficient in multi-axis CNC milling, EDM, and complex grinding processes.
- Strong expertise in CAD/CAM platforms including Mastercam and SolidWorks.
- Ability to interpret complex blueprints, GD&T, and technical documents.
- Proven track record in customer-facing engineering roles.
- Familiarity with quality management systems like ISO 9001 or AS9100.
- Experience with high-temperature alloy machining (e.g., Inconel, Hastelloy).
- Background in legacy product requalification or reverse engineering.
- Knowledge of Haas CNC controls.
- Certification or training in Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or Continuous Improvement.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is advantageous.
