Position Title: Design Engineer - Structural
Reports To: Project Manager and/or Senior Project Engineer
Status: Hourly, Non-Exempt
Pay Range: $31.00 to $34.00 hourly

The Design engineer is responsible for creating and developing innovative engineering designs and solutions. The Design Engineer performs structural engineering tasks and will work closely with the Project Manager and Senior Project Manager to ensure designs meet client requirements and industry standards.
Responsibilities:
- Provide engineering design, calculations, and preparation of plans and specifications in accordance with federal, state and local agency requirements and general engineering design standards.
- Ability to establish and maintain communication, responsiveness and effective working relationships with design team, clients, consultants, and contractors.
- Provide Construction Administration and support, including but not limited to resolving field issues, reviewing material submittals, and addressing contractor RFIs.
- Create and develop detailed engineering designs using analytical software (such as ETABS, RAM, etc.) and Revit software and other design tools.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements, objectives, and constraints.
- Perform calculations, simulations, and tests to validate design concepts and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Generate and review technical documentation, including design specifications, drawings, and reports.
- Stay updated with industry trends, new technologies, and best practices to continuously improve design processes and outcomes.
- Participate in design reviews, project meetings, and client presentations to communicate design concepts and progress.
- Work closely with CAD drafters to develop knowledge for the production of construction documents
- Perform other tasks as required
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering with structural emphasis from accredited college or university; required
- Masters of Science Degree in Structural Engineering preferred
- 0-2 years of experience in the same or similar role
- Experience with analytical software (such as ETABS, RAM, etc.) and Revit; preferred
- Knowledge of general engineering principals, statics, dynamics of structures and general engineering design
- Basic knowledge of structural design for concrete, steel, timber, and masonry
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
