Summary of Position
The Kitchen Cooks are responsible for assisting in the daily operations of the Trezevant Terrace Assisted Living kitchen. The Kitchen Cook assumes responsibility for preparing and cooking all food items according to the daily menu and recipe book. They are responsible for the break down and clean up of the kitchen lines as well as rotation and consolidating all produce in the walk-in cooler. In the absence of the Chef, the Kitchen Cook is in charge of the kitchen operations, including all food ordering through vendors as well as disciplinary action for kitchen staff.

Summary of Position

Primary Duties
- Must prepare hot and cold food items for resident's based on recipes provided;
- Must have knowledge about food safety standards;
- Must keep a clean, sanitary work area on a daily basis according to industry standards;
- Must consolidate and rotate produce in walk-cooler daily;
- As designated, must be able to assess need and order accurately from vendors, any food and produce needed for daily menu;
- Must become proficient and knowledgeable with tasksheets;
- Must oversee sanitation of kitchen line breakdown and clean up; maintain clean and sanitary conditions and cleaning schedules according to State Regulations and manufacturer protocols;
- Must attend required in-services or seminars as needed and required;
- Must be willing to substitute in other area kitchens and perform duties as needed;
- Must retain knowledge of Trezevant Manor's Mission, Vision and Values;
- Report to work on time, as scheduled and outlined in the Employee Handbook;
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Prior on-the-job training and two (2) years equivalent experience required.
- Must be able to read, write and follow directions.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, pull carts and lift at least 30 pounds easily.
- Must e able to climb stairs and be able to use/operate proper equipment needed to clean.
- Must be able to read and write in order to use schedule properly.
