nJob Summary
nCooks prepare meals and food items according to recipes created by the company or establishment by which they are employed. They perform all duties necessary to ensure that a meal is properly prepared and presented within a specified timeframe.
nResponsibilities
nEnsure ingredients and final products are fresh.
nFollow recipes, including measuring, weighing, and mixing ingredients.
nBake, grill, steam and boil meats, vegetables, fish, poultry, and other foods.
nPresent, garnish and arrange final dishes.
nOccasionally serve food.

nNature and Scope of Position
nDemonstrates a passion to serve by efficiently and safely preparing prep items by following company’s procedures, recipes, menu specifications and completes final plate check to ensure proper presentation.
nEssential Functions
nAccurately prepares foods orders within eight minutes from the time the order is entered into the computer system.
nClean and stock cook line thoroughly throughout the shift.
nUtilize proper tools such as scoops, ladles and kitchen utensils to keep food cost under control.
nDemonstrate respect for each individual by always communicating courteously and respectfully with management team, co-workers and guest during peak.
nAdhere to all safe food handling and health departments guidelines. Follow all safe food handling and equipment procedures during cooking.
nExhibit integrity in all actions by meeting company standards in appearance, grooming, security, and sanitation. Always shows up in a clean apron, clean shirt, clean pants and non-slip shoes.
nWash and sanitize cutting boards and counter tops between tasks.
nAssist management with proper storing of food items and supplies. Understand product, self-life, dating procedures and serve appropriate food.
nComplete opening and/or closing duties.
nBackup DMO functions as requested.
nEnthusiastically acknowledge guest with the company’s five-foot rule.
nPerform all other duties as assigned.

nEducation and Experience
nSuccessful completion of required training program, including watching videos, completing on-the-job checklists and written quizzes.
nMinimum of six months of related experience is preferred.
