As a Technical Account Manager at Pump, you'll serve as a trusted advisor to our most strategic customers. You'll be the bridge between our customers and our internal teams-working closely with engineering, product, and leadership to ensure smooth onboarding, technical success, and long-term customer satisfaction.
You'll play a critical role in shaping the technical experience of our customers-from pre-sales solution design to post-sales support and optimization. This is a hands-on, customer-facing role where your technical expertise and communication skills will drive adoption and retention.
Responsibilities -

  • Lead pre-sales architecture conversations, helping prospects understand the technical value of Pump's platform.
  • Design and guide the implementation of cost-efficient AWS infrastructures, focusing on EKS, Reserved Instances, Savings Plans, and FinOps best practices.
  • Serve as a technical advisor and project manager throughout the customer lifecycle-ensuring success from onboarding through expansion.
  • Implement and manage AWS governance models at scale: IAM policies, Control Tower, CloudTrail, CloudFormation, etc.
  • Help customers understand and leverage AWS marketplace tools (e.g., Datadog, ROSA) to maximize value and reduce costs.
  • Collaborate with internal product, engineering, and operations teams to provide customer feedback and influence roadmap decisions.
  • Deliver workshops, documentation, and training to help customers self-serve and scale with Pump.
  • Monitor customer usage and provide ongoing recommendations for optimization and success.
Qualifications -
  • 6+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure, DevOps, or solutions architecture.
  • Deep hands-on experience with AWS, especially with EKS and enterprise-level governance configurations.
  • Strong knowledge of FinOps, including cost optimization strategies and tooling.
  • Skilled in infrastructure-as-code and automation tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Startup experience or a strong bias toward action and experimentation.
  • Bonus: Experience with AWS marketplace tools like Datadog, ROSA, or similar SaaS integrations.

Compensation
$70,000-$130,000 USD
