nTuckey Mechanical Services, Inc. services South Central, PA. Jobsites can be located in the Carlisle, Harrisburg, York, Shippensburg, Chambersburg, Gettysburg and the surrounding area.
nAs a commercial plumber you will be responsible to assemble, install and repair pipes, fittings and fixtures of heating, water and drainage systems, according to specifications and plumbing codes. Commercial and Industrial jobs but on occasion may work on residential.
nEssential Job functions include (but not limited to):
nstudy plans and drawing to determine work aids required and sequence of installation
ninspect structure to ascertain obstructions to be avoided to prevent weakening of structure resulting from installation of pipe
nCut and thread pipe using pipe cutters, cutting torch and pipe-threading machine
nAssemble and install valves, pipe fittings and pipes composed of metals, such as iron, steel, brass and lead; and nonmentals such as glass, vitrified clay and plascit or PVC, using hand tools and power tools
nJoin pipes using screws, bolts, fittings, solder, plastic solvent, and caulks joints
nInstall and repair plumbing fixtures such as sinks, commodes, faucets, bathtubs, water heaters, hot water tanks and water softners
nMentor and assist with training of helpers on the job
nQualifications include (but are not limited to):
nValid driver's license
nHigh school diploma or GED. Vo-tech experience preferred
nBasic knowledge of electrical and welding
nMust stand or walk for long periods
nMust lift and carry, push and pull materials weighing 50 to 150 lbs
nAbility to climb and maintain balance on high ladders, scaffolding and other objects
nAbility to stopp, kneel, crouch, crawl, and see naturally or with correction
nMay work in confined spaces, small crawlspaces or in high places
nCompletion of apprenticeship program preferable
nJourneyman or Master License preferred but not necessary
