The role involves evaluating program portfolios, improving systems engineering processes, managing technical baselines, and ensuring subsystem and system performance aligns with approved specifications.
Responsibilities
- Program Portfolio Reviews : Conduct reviews to evaluate and recommend alternative plans, enhance systems engineering programs/processes, manage and sustain program technical baselines, and design/perform system-level tests to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Program Evaluations : Perform reviews to assess proposed plans, systems engineering programs, design, and test results to verify subsystem and system performance meets program specifications.
- Technical Documentation and Presentations : Prepare technical documents defining system/subsystem characteristics, create management reports, and deliver technical presentations for planning, implementation, and corrective actions using engineering economy principles.
- System Validation : Develop criteria and procedures for system validation, and analyze/evaluate results of major engineering systems.
- Technical Support and Training : Provide system/program engineering, technical support, and training for acquisition, development, integration, sustainment, evolution, deployment, installation, and operations oversight.
- Risk Management : Support program and project risk management activities in compliance with Air Force Systems Engineering Assessment Model (SEAM) processes.
- Analytical Capabilities : Perform problem/gap definition, trade space analysis, science and technology roadmap analysis, "Set-based design" for concept development, Multi-Objective Decision Analysis, and cost versus capability trade-off analysis.
- Digital Engineering Implementation : Apply Digital Engineering, Digital Thread, and Digital Twin techniques across the system lifecycle.
