Job Summary:
The Entry Cook - Employee Dining Room is responsible for preparing and serving a variety of hot and cold food items for resort employees, maintaining sanitation standards, and supporting the back-of-house kitchen team. This position is ideal for individuals beginning their culinary career and offers opportunities to develop core skills in a fast-paced, supportive kitchen environment.

Shift & Schedule Availability: Year-Round / Full-Time
Pay Range: $17 - $18/hour. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare basic food items (grilled meats, sandwiches, salads, soups, etc.) according to daily menus and recipes.
  • Stock and maintain cold and hot food stations, replenishing as needed throughout service hours.
  • Ensure correct food temperatures and proper handling of all food items to meet health and safety standards.
  • Clean workstations, kitchen equipment, and food prep areas regularly to maintain a safe and sanitary kitchen.
  • Receive and properly store inventory, rotating products and checking for freshness.
  • Assist in setup and breakdown of food service stations, buffet lines, and grab-and-go areas.
  • Respond to employee dietary needs or special requests with professionalism and flexibility.
  • Follow kitchen policies, food handling procedures, and portion control guidelines.
  • Support the broader culinary team with prep work and cross-departmental kitchen assistance as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous kitchen or food service experience a plus but not required.
  • Basic understanding of food safety and kitchen sanitation standards.
  • Strong work ethic and a desire to learn culinary fundamentals.
  • Ability to work in a team environment with a positive and professional attitude.
  • Able to take direction and multitask during busy service periods.
  • Must obtain Food Handler Certification within 30 days of employment.
