JOB SUMMARY : Responsible for providing assistance to the supervising speech and language pathologist in all aspects of speech and language interventions for students with disabilities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : The subsequent duties outline the fundamental operations of the position and exemplify the nature of the tasks carried out. They do not encompass a comprehensive inventory of the obligations and responsibilities fulfilled in this role. The approximation of frequencies and time allocation percentages are flexible and subject to the requirements of the organization. Job Task Descriptions Frequency Percentage of Time
1.
Plans and implements therapeutic programs, based on individual's goals and objectives, under the supervision of a licensed Speech Therapist.
Daily 40%
2.
Assist the Speech and Language Pathologist in providing services for students with disabilities, including scheduling, screening, observations, instruction and data collection in classrooms and/or individual and small group settings.
Daily 15%
3.
Consults regularly with supervising Speech Therapist concerning implementing, interventions, modifications, status of therapy, modifying adaptive equipment, and therapy activities.
Daily 5%
4.
Contributes to progress reports by collecting data and other documentation as requested by supervising Physical Therapist.
Daily 5%
5.
Completes Medicaid forms as directed.
Daily 5%
6.
Demonstrates effective communication skills (oral and written).
Daily 5%
7.
Participates in IEP and Speech Therapy meetings.
Daily 5%
8.
Organize, inventory and maintain equipment.
Daily 5%
9.
Assist with clerical and logistical needs of the program.
Daily 5%
10.
Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

- Criminal background check and fingerprinting required
- Bachelor's degree: Communication Disorder or Speech Pathology
- One (1) year of professional work experience in speech language pathology
- Medium work strength level (lifting or carrying 50 pounds)
- Primarily works indoors
- Typically a moderate noise level
- Work location is subject to change to meet the requirements of the organization
- Experience working in the public sector
- Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds
