Position Summary:
Under the supervision of the Project Lead, the Project Engineer will be responsible for the complete design and implementation of industrial control system projects, ensuring adherence to customer specifications and industry requirements. This role entails the technical execution of assigned projects, assisting with the development of project schedules, budgets, and timelines to ensure successful project delivery.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop I/O lists, Cause & Effect Diagrams, control system panel designs, network architectures, electrical schematics, mechanical designs, and perform calculations as required by project scope.
- Configure, program, and test PLC/HMI applications necessary for the safe operation of the system.
- Select and procure materials for the control systems, including field instrumentation and electrical equipment, reviewing vendor data to ensure compliance with specifications and project requirements.
- Prepare comprehensive project documentation including Factory and Site Acceptance Test Protocols (FAT/SAT), Operations Manuals, and Functional Design Specifications.
- Conduct FATs/SATs to demonstrate compliance of hardware and software with control system drawings/specifications to customers.
- Develop and implement customer training programs to ensure effective understanding of control systems.
- Interface effectively with various engineering functions, project management, procurement, sales/applications, panel shop, and field personnel.
- Participate in project meetings and represent the company in technical discussions with customers and vendors.
- Assist with loop checks and provide startup assistance as needed.
- Carry out work in accordance with Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality systems.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a mechanical/electrical/process engineering role; recent graduates with strong internships or co-op experience in a related field will be considered.
