nPosition Summary
nAs a Medical Assistant you will be responsible for providing administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the medical office/hospital. You will support doctors and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization, and communication.
n*Reports to:*Clinic Manager
nResponsibilities of the Position **
nInterview patients and document basic medical history.
nOrganize and schedule appointments.
nUpdate and file medical records and insurance reports.
nArrange hospital admissions and laboratory services.
nCheck with patients and type up patient’s charts.
nAssist during medical examinations/draw up injections and medications.
nProduce and distribute correspondence memos, letters, faxes, and forms.
nHandle receivable and payable accounts and keep financial records.
nPrepare and clean treatment rooms and medical instruments.
nOther tasks and duties as assigned.
nRequired Education
nHigh School Diploma or equivalent is required. Completion of a Medical Assistant program is required.
nCertifications
nActive Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification is required. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification though the American Heart Association is required upon hire.
nRequired Skills
nProven working experience as a medical assistant or license practical nurse.
nKnowledge of medical office/license practical nurse management systems and procedures.
nExcellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and priorities work.
nSocial perceptiveness and service oriented.
nExcellent written and verbal communication skills.
nStrong organizational and planning skills.
nProficiency in MS Office and patient management software.
nAny other duties assigned by management or physician.
