We’re looking for an enthusiastic food prep worker who can deliver outstanding results in the kitchen prepping meals for our chef/cook. Your main responsibilities will be to stock, prepare and measure condiments and slice and dice foods. You’ll keep your workstation and equipment clean and follow all required safety protocols. Good organization skills, the ability to take directions well, and to read recipe instructions and labels in English, as well as handle a variety of kitchen equipment, sharp knives, and measuring tools are required. Read meal charts and labels in English and use the measuring tools correctly • Maintain a clean, organized prep area and workstation at all times, and sanitize equipment after each shift or when we close • Observe all company-required food safety guidelines and protocols in the areas where food is prepared and kitchen equipment is utilized • Handle simple cooking tasks such as brewing coffee or tea, preparing soups and reducing sauces, and assisting others in the kitchen when necessary • Use the correct amounts of condiments, wash all fruits and vegetables to be peeled, diced, and sliced, slice meats, and mix a variety of sauces Qualifications: • Should be able to stand on your feet for long periods of time and also bend, pull, and lift 35-50 pounds • Available to work weekends and holidays, pitching in extra hours whenever needed • Basic familiarity with operating kitchen equipment • Able to read recipes, meal charts, and labels and understand directions in English • Prefer someone with some kitchen prep experience and associate’s degree (AA) or equivalent, but it is not required Compensation: $15 - $17 hourly
