The Medicaid Managed Care Liaison is a full-time position.

Duties and Responsibilities:
n29I Core Services
nCoordinate with MCO (Managed Care Organization) Foster Care Liaison
nInform and coordinate PCP (Primary Care Physician) changes
nAssist with plan enrollment, disenrollment, and transitions
nIssue plan Welcome letters
nSecure plan ID showing effective date
nAssist in ID card replacement
nAssist with foster care placement changes including: - Access to health care - Facilitate a single case agreement when a child is placed outside of the MMCP’s service area or provider network
nInteract with clinical and billing staff
nRefer children for needed services and assist in provider selection
nCoordinate with health care providers, including school and community-based services
nMaintain eligibility for public or private health insurance
nAssist with consent and/or confidentiality issues
nObtain authorizations from all MCO
nUpdate the AccuMedic (EHR) system with the authorization information to ensure proper billing occurs
nHealth Services Supervisor
nTake care of general office duties such as answering telephone and triaging calls, maintaining office supplies, preparing time sheets, and maintaining clinical staff schedules in Microsoft Outlook.

Assist Foster Care and Group Home programs with Access to care.

Oversee and support program audits
n n - n
Responsible for closed medical records

Arrange Single Case Agreements with out of network placements

Billing and Clinical Staff interaction
n n - n
Referrals to services
n n - n
Coordinate care with providers including schools and Community Based services.
n n - n
Assist with consent / confidentiality issues.
n n - n
Assist with Fair Hearings / court ordered services.
n n - n
Schedule clinical appointments, make reminder calls, and track kept and not kept appointments.
n n - n
Create and maintain tickler system for child-specific mandated services in developmental and mental health treatment.
n n - n
Type clinical reports memos letters, and other reports for the department.
n n - n
Photocopy, distribute, and file reports and other written materials.
n n - n
Log and distribute requests for clinical services to appropriate staff.
n n - n
Distribute and track completed clinical reports.
n n - n
Track Continuing Education credits, licensure, and malpractice insurance of clinicians.
n n - n
Prepare and maintain records of department purchases.
n n - n
Handle incoming and outgoing mail for the department.
n n - n
Maintain up-to-date treatment case lists on each clinician.
n n - n
Interact with clinical and billing staff
n n - n
Oversees all business functions
n n - n
Perform other secretarial duties as requested by Medical Director.

Any other related duties as required

Educational & Experience Requirements:
nExperience:
nMinimum 3 years’ experience in a medical or social services office environment.
nKnowledge and use of computers.
nExperience with Electronic Health Records a plus.
nExcellent Typing skills.
nExcellent Data entry skills.
nFamiliar with NYS Child Welfare protocols.
nOrganizational skills.
nGood Communication and collaboration skills.

nEducation:
nHigh school diploma – minimum; BA/ BS/ MPA preferred
