Overall Responsibilities
As a Process Engineer you will be responsible for initiating, coordinating and implementing manufacturing processes in the Low Voltage Division along with process improvement initiatives. Integration of process improvement methodologies and activities within the value stream along with being a generator and coordinator of ideas for implementation and improvement are key in this role. Timely and effective results of implementation and improvements are crucial. In addition, coordinating resources required to plan, train, and implement processes are vital to the daily support in establishing and troubleshooting product quality and output.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading the development and optimization of manufacturing processes for Low Voltage products including Security Cable, Fire Alarm Cable, Thermostat Cable, and Audio Cable. - Participating in the installation and commissioning of new production equipment. - Developing and document processing specifications and standard operating procedures.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams including maintenance, quality, and operations. - Apply continuous improvement methodologies to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety. - Supporting, troubleshooting and root cause analysis of production issues.
-Utilizing internal and external sources to evaluate, synthesize and interrelate information when solving problems and making decisions.
-Accurately scope out length and difficulty of tasks and projects; organize work into logical process steps; use time effectively; establish priorities.
-Evaluating the risk/reward priority of implementation and improvement opportunities.
- Contributing to the growth and culture of a startup division within a mature manufacturing environment.
Requirements
Qualifications
-Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or related field preferred).
- 4+ years' experience in manufacturing process engineering, preferably in wire and cable or adjacent industries.
- Familiarity with continuous processing, extrusion, plastic molding, or wire drawing equipment is a strong plus.
- Proficiency in basic engineering tools and computer skills; AutoCAD experience is a plus.
- Exposure to Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies is beneficial.
-Proven project management skills - Strong communication skills and the ability to learn quickly.
- Willingness to be hands-on and adaptable in a dynamic, startup environment.
