Richland School District 44 Richland Elementary is seeking applications for a Head Cook.
Hours: 4 hours per day on school days (exact times TBD)
Wage: $18/hour
Benefits: NDPERS retirement
Location: Colfax, ND
Reports to: Jr/Sr High School Principal
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist head cook in preparing daily breakfast and lunch meals according to menu plans and USDA guidelines
  • Measure and serve food portions accurately to ensure consistency and compliance with nutrition standards
  • Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, serving areas, and equipment; follow daily cleaning schedule
  • Wash dishes, utensils, pots, and pans using proper sanitation procedures
  • Help with receiving, unpacking, and storing food and supply deliveries
  • Follow food safety regulations and school district protocols (ND Dept. of Health, USDA, etc.)
  • Assist in maintaining temperature logs, food production records, and cleaning logs
  • Help set up serving lines and clean up after meal service
  • Serve meals to students in a friendly, respectful manner, promoting a positive dining experience
  • Assist with food preparation or service for school events, when needed

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Prior food service or kitchen experience preferred, but not required
  • Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation procedures
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Physical ability to lift up to 40 pounds and stand for extended periods
  • Willingness to complete required food safety training and certification
