Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

- Assist head cook in preparing daily breakfast and lunch meals according to menu plans and USDA guidelines
- Measure and serve food portions accurately to ensure consistency and compliance with nutrition standards
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, serving areas, and equipment; follow daily cleaning schedule
- Wash dishes, utensils, pots, and pans using proper sanitation procedures
- Help with receiving, unpacking, and storing food and supply deliveries
- Follow food safety regulations and school district protocols (ND Dept. of Health, USDA, etc.)
- Assist in maintaining temperature logs, food production records, and cleaning logs
- Help set up serving lines and clean up after meal service
- Serve meals to students in a friendly, respectful manner, promoting a positive dining experience
- Assist with food preparation or service for school events, when needed

- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Prior food service or kitchen experience preferred, but not required
- Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation procedures
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Physical ability to lift up to 40 pounds and stand for extended periods
- Willingness to complete required food safety training and certification
- Projects a positive, cooperative and respectful attitude with students, parents, other employees, and community members that contribute to the overall public relations of the school district.
