We are looking for a skilled and motivated Mobile Road Service Technician to join our growing team.
nJob Summary:
nWe are seeking an experienced and reliable Mobile Road Service Technician to provide on-site diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance for tractor-trailers. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently in various field conditions. You will be responsible for responding to roadside breakdowns and performing scheduled maintenance, ensuring minimal downtime for our clients.
nKey Responsibilities:
nRespond promptly and professionally to roadside service calls for tractor-trailers.
nDiagnose mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic issues on trucks and trailers.
nPerform a wide range of repairs on-site, including but not limited to:
nEngine diagnostics and minor repairs (e.g., sensors, belts, hoses)
nBrake system repairs (e.g., air brakes, chambers, slack adjusters)
nElectrical system troubleshooting and repair (e.g., lighting, starting, charging systems)
nAir system repairs (e.g., leaks, valves, airlines)
nFuel system repairs (e.g., fuel delivery issues, filter changes)
nTrailer repairs (e.g., doors, landing gear, lights, body work).
nPerform preventative maintenance services on trucks and trailers at customer locations.
nUtilize diagnostic tools and software to accurately identify faults.
nMaintain accurate records of all service work performed, including parts used and labor hours.
nOperate and maintain a service vehicle in a clean, organized, and safe manner.
nCommunicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and team members regarding job status and repair recommendations.
nAdhere to all safety regulations and procedures.
nManage parts inventory on the service truck and order replacements as needed.
nBe available for on-call rotations, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
nRequired Skills and Qualifications:
nHigh school diploma or GED.
nMinimum of 1 year of experience as a diesel mechanic, preferably with experience on tractor-trailers.
nStrong knowledge of diesel engines, Class 8 truck and trailer systems (electrical, braking, pneumatic, hydraulic).
nProficiency with diagnostic tools and software.
nAbility to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
nValid driver's license with a clean driving record (CDL is a plus)
nAbility to lift heavy objects up to 75 lbs and work in various weather conditions.
nExcellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
nStrong communication and customer service skills.
nAbility to work independently and manage time effectively.
nPreferred Qualifications:
nASE certifications
nCDL Class A or B.
nExperience with reefer unit repairs.
nPrevious experience in a mobile/road service role.
nFamiliarity with DOT regulations.
