Job Description: As a Phlebotomist, you will play a critical role in collecting patient specimens for laboratory testing. Your responsibilities include:
- Performing clean venipunctures and capillary collections.
- Adhering to safety guidelines for handling blood, body fluids, and hazardous chemicals.
- Recording lab testing and maintaining quality control and assurance.
- Managing inventory levels of reagents and supplies.
- Identifying and resolving issues that may impact test performance or results.
- Documenting corrective actions taken when deviations occur.
- Maintaining documentation for lab-only visits.
- Understanding the Laboratory Information System (LIS) for ordering tests and generating reports.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Excellent phlebotomy skills.
- Experience in outpatient facilities or physician offices.
Education & Experience:
- 2 years of clinical lab experience preferred; 1 year of phlebotomy experience preferred.
- Plebotomy certification is preferred but not required.
- A high school diploma is required.
Physical Requirements: This role may involve:
- Standing, walking, sitting, and manual dexterity.
- Lifting or exerting force up to 10 pounds.
