Canvass Leads will be responsible for talking to voters about the 2024 Virginia elections while managing a small team of other canvassers who are paid staff. This is a temporary position. Canvass Leads will work under the immediate supervision of the Virginia Field Manager.

Compensation: $30 per hour

- Train canvassers on effective voter engagement conversations
- Track data and completed canvassing shifts on a daily basis
- Communicate with Virginia Field Manager on team shifts, availability, and daily debrief reports
- Commit to leading thorough daily debriefs and report outs with team
- Check-in weekly with Virginia Field Manager about team progress, GOTV goals and materials needs
- Represent the organization(s) professionally and effectively to the public
- Canvass neighborhoods to drop off important election materials and have brief in-person discussion with voters while following requisite COVID-19 safety protocols, including but not limited to mask wearing and social distancing.
- Have access to a smartphone, computer and reliable internet access for job duration
- Work well independently towards a team goal
- Strong interpersonal skills and outgoing personality
- Be goal-oriented, punctual, organized, and have a positive attitude
- Believe in the mission and vision of Care in Action
- Proficiency in a language other than English is a plus
- Access to a car is preferred but not required
- 1-2 cycles of canvassing experience as a volunteer or paid staff
