Job Title: Electrical Engineer
About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to join our growing Electrical Engineering (EE) group in Decatur, IL. This team currently consists of four on-site engineers and is expected to expand to ten by July. The EE group operates within a broader engineering team of 10-11 members, focusing on electrical systems integration for large wheel loaders, Off-highway Transport (OHT), and scrapers in an office-based environment. Occasional travel to PPG may be required.

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to join our growing Electrical Engineering (EE) group in Decatur, IL. Occasional travel to PPG may be required.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and route wire harnesses using Creo for large wheel loaders, OHT, and scrapers.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics and drawings to guide design work.
- Detail and check engineering prints for accuracy and functionality.
- Collaborate with suppliers, product groups, and internal team members on design requirements and updates.
- Support engineering tasks such as cost roll-ups, FMEAs, and team feasibility commitments .
- Conduct design reviews , including preparing PowerPoint materials and delivering presentations.
- Manage space claims within machinery designs to ensure efficient component integration.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
- Proficiency in Creo for 3D modeling and routing wire harnesses.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and drawings .
- Strong communication and collaboration skills .
- Former Caterpillar experience or familiarity with Teamcenter .
- Experience with fluid lines , ideally within Caterpillar systems.
- Proficiency in Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) .
- Background in the off-road equipment industry (e.g., Deere or similar).
- Experience supporting cost roll-ups, design reviews, or creating PowerPoint presentations .
